Starting therapy is often the hardest step.
Reaching out can feel overwhelming, so we want to make it as supportive as possible. Send a message and we will help you connect with one of our therapists — or, if it is a better fit, point you toward another trusted therapist in the area.
A simple path into care
Research consistently points to the therapeutic alliance — the relationship between you and your therapist — as the strongest predictor of progress. So the first step is really about finding the right person. There are a couple of ways to take yours.
-
Reach out to a therapist directly
Read each therapist's profile and contact the one who feels like a fit, directly by phone or text.
-
Send a message here
Prefer to write first? Send a message through the website and we will help you find the therapist who fits.
-
Choose your next step
Once you have a therapist in mind, send a message and we will help you work out the next step.
Fees, CenCal, telehealth, and office details are on the FAQs page.
What a consultation call is for
A consultation call is a relaxed way to start. You do not need to be organized or even know exactly what you want to say — we are happy to ask questions and help you figure out whether therapy, and which therapist, feels right.
There is no pressure and no obligation. Therapists are in the helping field, so walking you toward the right next step — even when that is someone outside our practice — is something we genuinely like to do.
We accept CenCal — therapy may be covered.
CenCal is the Medi-Cal managed care plan for Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. If you are a CenCal member, contact us to ask about therapist availability and how to confirm your coverage.
Questions are welcome before you book.
Use the FAQ for fees, CenCal, telehealth, and office details. Send a message if the question is personal, or if you are deciding between therapists.
